Love, Laugh, Live, Dance a lot and Pray. It’s her way of life in its simplest form. Enjoy every moment as tomorrow is not promised.

Loved fiercely by so many, she personifies what it means to live life to the fullest. Some of the hallmarks of being Aida are her sunny but caring personality, quick wit, and no filter responses to life's unpredictability. From New York City, to Arizona, to Florida she has amassed a circle of friends and loved ones who would do anything and everything for her. She is everyone's biggest cheerleader. If you ask anyone of her friends they will tell you "She is my best friend.” She makes everyone feel as if they are the most special person in her life. That is the essence of who she is.

June 2016,  held the promise of  a wonderful summer to look forward to with warm sunny days, beach plans, catching up with friends and family. Little did she know it would be the beginning of a journey that was unimaginable.  After months of enduring pain that would not dissipate she finally decided to go to the doctor to determine the cause.

Like millions of women across the world, she’s diagnosed with breast cancer – Stage 3 later developing into Stage 4. After months of chemotherapy, radiation and a double mastectomy seven months later, she seemed fine. Unfortunately Aida's cancer continued to progress.

The most recent diagnosis as of Saturday, Monday, May 19th is that the cancer has progressed to a brain condition called Leptomeningeal Carcinomatosis (LC). It is a rare complication of cancer which spreads to the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. LC occurs in approximately 5% of people with cancer and is terminal. This causes blurred vision, strenuous headaches, causes the body to clamp up with no mobility, unable to speak clearly (slurring of words) where she cannot be understood and increased pressure in the brain. These episodes are increasing day-by-day.

The doctors determined that a shunt surgery would stabilize the pressure that is in her brain. Monday, May 20th she will undergo this procedure.

Our Princess Warrior’s hope and faith for a cure and longer life have never wavered.  She hasn’t stopped laughing and enjoying her time with family and friends. Her will to live has never diminished. God is wonderful and has blessed her with the greatest group of supporters!

The doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center are in search of different types of treatment to extend her life. The treatments are costly, one that will require the help of all of us coming together to relieve strenuous and costly medical bills .

The situation is urgent!  We have created this Go Fund Me in hopes that collectively, all of Aida's loved ones can raise the money to pay for treatment. These funds will be a tremendous help as she explores all avenues that can lead to a potential life-saving treatment.

We appreciate you taking the time to read this appeal and considering a donation to this urgent cause. As always, any amount goes a long way and we are grateful for your generous gift. Prayers go a long way, so please do not stop praying for our Warrior Princess.

It is with great sadness that I write this post and my last update on our warrior princess who has lost the battle against this most aggressive type of cancer.
On July 31, 2018 at around 6:15pm Aida R. Del Orbe took her last breath in peace. She is no longer in pain and god has gained an angel. The void we feel is undeniable but she would want us to rejoice in her happiness for life and most importantly remember her for all the love she gave and that infectious laugh she had.
Please check social media for funeral services and final resting arrangements. @mzmidtown5 on instagram and Aida R. Del Orbe on Facebook.
Continue to share your photos , stories , and comments about our beautiful warrior princess whom we’ll miss terribly, but remember she lives in all of us!
So live, love, laugh and dance because she wouldn’t want it any other way!

Thank you

Hello everyone a friendly update since we have been in and out of the hospital for the past month and a half. Things have been progressing. Good news is that thisnwarrior princess continues to fight for her life.
We recently received her lastest MRI results that revealed that the lesions in the brain have been contained and they have mildly minimized in size! So we are grateful for this news.
Moving forward in regards to treatment Aida has decided to start a new chemo today and hopefully this new treatment will help attack the cancer cells. She just had a procedure done this past Friday to install the port where they can access blood through there and no longer need to find her veins on her arm or bruise her.
Tuesday we have an appt with an alternative doctor to see what other options in different kind of treatment. Hopefully we have more suggestions and options in extending her life. Please continue with your thoughts and prayers. We are ever so thankful to you all.

To all that have been so supportive, Carlos and I wanted to thank everyone for their constant love and prayers and also update everyone ! After Aida had her surgery last week on May 22, 2018 she is now feeling better is able to walk and stand longer then before and also now has clearer speech.
Her headaches have minimized and her spirits are still high despite the fact she is still fighting this aggressive cancer.
So please let’s continue on with all the love, prayers , and donations. Every little bit helps and it has been amazing to see what we as humans are capable once we come together as one for the love of Aida !

Thank you much love always!
