Presidio Riding Club is a small barn with a big mission: to provide Equine Assisted Programs for Veterans - where resident horses work with veterans who have been physically and emotionally traumatized while in service.
We need your help to support and expand our valued Veteran’s program, and to preserve this special historic site –where Veterans and Horses help each other in serenity and with compassion.

Our goal is to support hundreds of veterans annually - building these and other programs:
- PRC is currently offering equine healing programs in conjunction with: “Horse Sensing” with:
⦁ Dr. Sally Broder, Psychologist and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapist
⦁ Lizbeth Hamlin LMFT, Equine Facilitated Therapist
⦁ Marida Berlin, PATH International Certified Instructor
- Project Hope - Equine Assisted Therapy with:
⦁ Nancy Freitas Lambdert, PSYD
⦁ Kim Mac Lean RDH, CHT. ES.
How your donations will help:
⦁ Our meeting room for veterans and volunteers is in need of structural improvements and amenities that will facilitate our groups.
⦁ We have no covered riding arena to offer our veteran’s programs during the winter. This has caused unfortunate gaps in our ongoing programs. A canopy would enable continuous and uninterrupted sessions.
⦁ We need to build a dedicated cross-tie area where Veterans can work directly with the horses
⦁ Our outdoor arena needs draining and sand so we can hold liberty sessions with Veterans in all weather conditions.
Preserving Heritage, Honoring Service.
The PRC, located in the majestic Marin Headlands of Marin County, California was originally constructed for use as military vehicle sheds and the adjoining balloon hanger, which actually housed an army aviation balloon is currently the only surviving hanger of its type! This site was transformed into a riding stable in 1966 and is now honored as a National Historic Landmark. This historical post maintains the original military architecture and character.
Our Mission is to preserve that history and support America’s veterans with equine assisted programs.
