SWIM FOR MND (DANIELLE LUDOWYKE)

Donation protected
In late 2016, Danielle Ludowyke was finding it hard to do basic day to day tasks, like pick up a pen and hang up clothes, and after numerous tests she was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. Despite being diagnosed with this incurable disease she has never taken a backwards step in letting it affect her positive outlook on life.

To me, Danielle is synonomous with helping others, whether it is being a  foster mother to disadvantaged children, rescuing abused animals or simply being a mother figure to not only her sons but numerous boys and girls around the world (including myself).

Recently, Danielle retired from work as her MND was making it very hard to work. Most people with MND end up going to a palliative care but Danielle would prefer to stay at home with her familyand continue living as 'normal a life' as possible.  Danielle and her husband Russell have a lovely home but now it requires some modifications so that she can still get around as independently as possible.

From  Thursday 26th April to Sunday 6th May my good friend, Benton Duthie, and I will swim 100km in 10 days raising money for Danielle so she can make her home more 'user friendly' in an effort to maintain her independance and for her to live at home safely.

To  achieve our goal of 100kms we will swim on average 100 laps of an Olympic swimming pool a day for 10 days straight.

We are aiming to raise $100 per km... our target being $10000.  Every cent of this will go to Danielle so that she can put it towards making her home safe so that she can continue living there for as long as possible.

Benton and I would love you to support us by:
i. donating to help ensure that Danielle can make so modifications to her home
ii. joining us for a swim as we try to reach our 100km goal
