Sweetsations Start Up Fund

By trade, I am a Master Level Healthcare Administrator. I worked my way up from a Substance Abuse Counselor to becoming a Chief Operating Officer of a Behavioral Health Clinic. I was very happy with my achievements. However, as I began to grow my family, I quickly realized that I wanted to become a stay-at-home mom. After a heart-to-heart with my husband, I resigned from my position. My dream of being at home with my children became a reality.

Now that I have settled in to my "stay-at-home" mom status, I want to fulfill another dream- baking cakes and making granola.  For years I have been doing this as a “hobby” and it has taken on quite well with minimal effort. Everyone who tastes my Granola and Sweet Potato Cake really love it. This “hobby” has now become my new career path. It is a passion that I would like to turn into a stream of income for my family.  The excitement of becoming self-employed, creating the flexibility needed to be a stay-at-home mom, and obtaining financial gain for something that I am passionate about is a true reward!


Sweetsations is a business that focuses on creating new and exciting baked goods for all to enjoy. I value the opportunity to use all natural and organic ingredients for the products I make. Signature products include: cheesecakes, sweet potato cakes, banana cakes, pound cakes and granola. Many items can be customized and are all made to order. Sweetsations' primary market will be individual customers, local restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops and local Farmer’s Markets.


This fundraising effort will assist in the required start up fees and additional equipment needed to pursue this endeavour. I would like to add that it would be the support needed to develop a successful business and gain the flexibility needed to create work/life balance.
