Support Earthquake Victim of Nepal

Donation protected
We are saddened, beyond words, to learn of physical and emotional devastation caused by the latest Earthquake in Nepal.

Although the true extent of both human and physical loss is yet to be accounted for fully, we are certain that it will be long untill we decide to take action or wait for others to step in. Therefore, as youths of the U.K., in as much as we concur the loss, we believe we are responsible and should all unite to help those who have been affected directly.

Therefore, please stand tall with us in these hours of difficulty in our motherland and donate with your generous heart .

We will ensure that our funds are channelled through legitimate avenues and remain transparent throughout.

Yours,
GMIN UK Team

Where are funds going?

Whilst the large organisations such as Oxfam and Red Cross have based their relief efforts in Kathmandu, we are working with local organisations closer to the epicentre of the earthquake. We have established contacts in Pokhara who have been travelling to villages in nearby Gorkha and are working with local officials and Nepal Police to provide aid to the victims.

On the morning of 27/04/2015, Ram Kadel will be taking tents, food and water to Gorkha from Pokhara. There, his team will liaise with the Chief District Officer to distribute these items.

In Kathmandu, we have been working with Prasit Kandel, a pharmacist by profession, who has been distributing first aid kit and other medications to people in Kathmandu.

The work of R Kadel and P Kandel was brought to our attention via social media. We decided to support their efforts are their work is reaching a group that would otherwise have received no help. These individuals are known to some members of our team personally as well which is why we have no hesitation in trusting them with the funds.

As of 2300 BST on 26/04/2015 we have transferred £700 to Mr R Kadel and £333 to Mr P Kandel through Western Union.

To summarise:

Day 1:
1. Liaised with our old friend Prasit Kandel and NRs 50,000 was transferred to support his outstanding efforts in Kathmandu. Please get in touch with him if you would like to help him out. (9851133822)

2. Liaised with a team that reached Gorkha from Pokhara. They were helped by Gorkha chief district officer and Nepal Police who directed them to Jaubari.

3. Coordinated with another group who are heading towards Gorkha from Pokhara. If you wish to help this team, contact Robin: 9856026233. They will leave on the morning of 27th April with tents and essentials.

4. Raised appx. £2500.

Day 2:

1. Rs. 1,00,000 given to Ram Kadel yesterday was used to buy tents, blankets and food to villages in Gorkha. They liaised with local officials and police to distribute the items.

2. We will make a further contribution to this team of Rs. 1,00,000 as they are preparing for a third team to reach Gorkha tomorrow with relief aid.
