Sydney Vegan Education Program

Sydney Vegan Club has been presenting vegan education events on a regular basis since 2014. To date we have held FORTY free events featuring the films Earthlings, Cowspiracy and Food Choices, introducing vegan information and food to OVER THREE THOUSAND PEOPLE, and inspiring HUNDREDS to go vegan!

So far in 2017 we’ve held four free education events, with over 800 people attending, and 74 signing up to our 30 Day Vegan Challenge. Our goal this year is to hold at least 15 events, and inspire over 200 people to go vegan!

Our current fundraising campaign is aimed to raise the funds required to cover our next four events. Each event is budgeted at $500 to cover the costs of venue hire, food and advertising to attract an audience of at least one hundred people to each event.

100% of all contributions are used to cover these costs. Please view our financial records here

Our vegan education events are dynamic and inspiring two and half hour events that provide an excellent introduction to some of the key reasons to go vegan.

Our next series of events will feature the powerful new vegan film ‘What The Health’. This astounding new film exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is costing us trillions of healthcare dollars, and keeping us sick. What The Health is a surprising investigative documentary that will be an eye-opener for everyone concerned about our health and how big business influences it.

Audiences will be shocked to learn the insidious roles played by pharmaceutical companies, agribusiness, and processed animal food companies, especially in the most vulnerable communities, and will cheer at the successes of those who took their lives into their own hands to achieve transformation and recovery.

The film follows intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the secret to preventing and even reversing chronic diseases.

Following 'What The Health' we also invite guests to view the shocking and powerful short film 'Thousand Eyes' by Chris Delforce, which is comprised of undercover footage captured in Australian Farms and slaughterhouses between 2012 and 2014.

After the film the guests are treated to a delicious vegan food tasting supported by various Australian vegan food businesses - with vegan cheese, chocolate, faux meats, and a plant milk bar where they can taste test a few of the most popular plant-milk brands.

The attendees are full of questions and curiosity about the issues that have been presented, and about veganism, so we have a dozen or so SVC members on hand to chat with them, answer their questions and invite them to take action to take up our Free 30 Day Challenge. There is a table with laptops where the guest can sign up electronically to the challenge.

For those who don’t sign up on the night, we hope that the event is the catalyst for further investigation of the issues and future changes.

For those who DO sign up there is an air of celebration and the candidates are congratulated, encouraged and photographed as they take on this wonderful step that they are making! :-)

For most attendees, these events are the FIRST time they have seriously examined their choices in relation to animals, our environment and their health. Its may alsoo be the first time that they have met so many vegans in one night or indeed a real-life vegan in the flesh, and we aim to support and inspire the move to a vegan lifestyle through providing an encouraging experience, making a good impression on our guests and showing them how friendly and welcoming our community is.

We’d love to have YOUR support to put on our spring Vegan Education events. With your help we can continue to promote kinder, greener healthier choices and inspire more people to make the commitment to a vegan lifestyle.

Thanks so much!! :-)
