Surgery for Sampson
Donation protected
Sampson is a special dude. He is my constant companion and has helped me cope with years of unstable health & chronic pain. He is a treasured part of our family and so much more than “just” a pet.
At 14 years young he’s still mistaken for a puppy and even his lifelong vet questions his age. He runs. He jumps. He fetches. He wrestles with his adopted brother. He behaves like a much younger pup and is in perfect health.
Well, except for the tumor.
Sammers developed a tumor on his rear right leg. While there’s no cure for the tumor, it can be de-bulked to help Sam stay his active self. Without intervention the tumor will continue to grow. Continued growth causes complications. Last night things came to a critical point for us when the tumor ulcerated.
Sam is stable and doing well, but has to be operated on ASAP. The tumor has to come off. His prognosis is excellent and he’s getting amazing veterinary care. We are confident he will make a speedy recovery and be chasing squirrels in no time.
We need some help though. 2017 was a very rough year for our family due to a series of deaths in the family, my husband being injured on the job, and my own health issues. Things have been tough financially and while we are getting back on track, our savings is not what it once was.
Friends and admirers of Sampson, if you are so moved, we are humbly asking you to contribute to help with his vet bills. No amount is too small. We are eternally grateful for any help you would like to provide.
If you don’t want to donate that is ok! Please just keep Sam and our family in your thoughts.
Thanks so much for reading Sam’s story. ❤️
