Sutherland Springs Support Fund

On November 5th a shooting occurred at a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. So far, 26 innocent people have been killed and countless others have been injured. As UT students, we are only a 1 hour and 30 minute drive away from Sutherland Springs, Texas. The approximate closeness of this tragedy, coupled with the thousands of students who call the San Antonio area their home, is why we have the opportunity and obligation, to unite as a campus, a student body, and a community to help support this town. Violence like this is cruel, uncalled for, and simply has no place in our society. As of now, the Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Tau Delta at UT Austin plans on focusing donations on the victims and their families. More specifically, we will be raising money to help out with funeral costs as Sutherland Springs is a small community with few resources. Your donations will go directly to the affected families to help give the victims the services and burials they deserve. As well as donating, we ask that you share this GoFundMe with your network to help increase awareness. Ultimatley, by uniting together, we have the opportunity to not only help Sutherland Springs, but speak up against unecessary violence in our society.
