Triple XXX Vanilla began in 2009 with little more than a passion, an idea, and a single product. That product was a DIY Vanilla Extract Kit, and my goal was to get people making their own vanilla extract.
My goal was always to help make vanilla sustainable, to teach people that the exotic and quixotic vanilla bean was potent and reusable, and to inform them about the horrors of animal products and industrial waste being used to make the vanilla sold in stores.
As time went on, and due to customer demand, I began making and selling vanilla extract. We made all of our vanilla products triple-strength to allow people to use less in recipes without losing flavor and impact. Thus, using less glass, less alcohol, and less water.
Triple XXX Vanilla innovated the vanilla kit, offering a two-bottle version to insure the user always had a supply of ready-to-use vanilla extract, and a back-up brewing. We invented Smoked Vanilla Beans, Smoked Vanilla Powder and Extract, and I have more ideas to revolutionize and sustain vanilla that aren’t even on Google!
Then, in September 2017, I was thrilled to be accepted into an incubator that offered to help grow my business. It was an exciting moment, and one that I thought would create new opportunities for this business. Unfortunately, the cost versus the return has not been in my favor. Instead of growing and networking, I just ended up deep in debt. In fact, my 2018 batch of extract, bottles, and shrink-wrap equipment are all being held hostage until I catch up on rental bills at the facility.
All of this made me rethink my entire business. I realized that I never really wanted to be a large scale extractor, I wanted to share my knowledge and teach people how to use the vanilla bean more sustainably, and make their own extract. Essentially, I was becoming everything I was fighting against. I asked myself, what did I start this business for and what do I want to do? I want to teach people, I want to empower people. I want to save vanilla for generations to come!
This is why I am turning to you, potential investor, supporter, and/or discriminating baker for help. I am offering you amazing rewards, and asking for your support to help fix my mess and get this business back on track. I am also looking for advice and business help.
