Sustack/Bedell New Beginnings

Yesterday my baby sister, Tammy, and her beautiful family lost their home to a fire. She told me when she was laying in bed last night, in an unfamiliar bed, in an unfamiliar home, with unfamiliar smells and noises she walked through her home in her mind. She remembered every picture on the wall in its proper place, every knick knack in its place, she remembered Morgan left the toilet seat up, that Peyton left the light on again, that  Jason left the sugar all over the coffee counter...again. What was a normal Friday morning of getting ready for school, looking for shoes, yelling up to the boys that the bus is going to be here soon, ended in devastation and heartache. But my sister’s faith in family, friends, community, and God kept her strong while she shivered in the cold watching her home, with all those memories that were made within its walls, burn completely to the ground. They were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. My first thought this morning was; she doesn’t even have a toothbrush! I just started to cry all over again. But...amazingly while I write this and watch her movements , she is laughing. She has a kind word for the neighbor that is grieving for her and her family, she is telling them it will be alright. We went to Walmart this morning to get some personal essentials and she was looking for a bootcut pair of jeans and then realized... I don’t even have a pair of boots to go with them and then giggled. She is the strongest person I know! She is one of the kindest and generous people I know. I’m glad to call her mine. She said to me: “it’s going to be ok, we are all safe, when one door closes, another opens. We might not always like God’s plans and his timing but they are his plans. This is just a “New Beggining”. 

They are are going to need help building their “New Beginning”.

All the outpouring of love and support  is incredible! People stopping by with clothes donations and cash donations is overwhelming and appreciated. 

They have a long road ahead of them and every little bit helps. Please find it in your heart to help if you can.
