Survivors spirit- children’s gynaecology

£25,000 goal

I’m raising money for Children’s gynaecologist units in Birmingham. I’m doing this because at age 14 I had to have my right ovary removed due to a 10cm tumour growing inside it.  I donated the tumour to research as only 11% of people who have this condition survive as it is still hard to diagnose and treat. I then developed a cyst the following year in my remaining ovary and at this point had to consider fertility treatments. I then had to have another operation aged 15 to remove the cyst and have my eggs frozen in preparation for IVF in the future.  When in the gynaecologist unit I was with adults as there were no facilities for children and I had to mix with women who were pregnant which made me extremely anxious and upset as people judged me for the wrong reasons. I don’t want other children who have the same condition as me to struggle as much as I have and I want them to have hope that you can survive with a little bit of spirit. I want to be the hope that I never had during my time in hospital.
