My name is Chis and I was an unintended victim in a domestic abuse murder-suicide. I'm only 6 weeks old so my new dad is helping me write this. On October 22nd I was shot while I was being held. The bullet went under my jaw and came out my left eye. The really nice people at the LSU Veterinary Hospital operated on me and got me much better. I can't see out of my left eye of course, but I'll get by.
The family of my previous owner asked my new dad to take me in. He was one of the first law enforcement officers that came to my house that night. What he didn't know when he agreed to be my new dad was that there was a pretty expensive bill from the vet people. I'm hoping some nice people that hear my story might help him with that bill.
Michael here, I'm not accustomed to asking for help with much of anything much less money, but this kind of took me by surprise. I made a promise the day of the funeral and felt obligated to stick by it.
