Survivor pup

$1,475 of $800 goal

Raised by 29 people in 7 months
My name is Chis and I was an unintended victim in a domestic abuse murder-suicide. I'm only 6 weeks old so my new dad is helping me write this. On October 22nd I was shot while I was being held. The bullet went under my jaw and came out my left eye. The really nice people at the LSU Veterinary Hospital operated on me and got me much better. I can't see out of my left eye of course, but I'll get by.
The family of my previous owner asked my new dad to take me in. He was one of the first law enforcement officers that came to my house that night. What he didn't know when he agreed to be my new dad was that there was a pretty expensive bill from the vet people. I'm hoping some nice people that hear my story might help him with that bill.
Michael here, I'm not accustomed to asking for help with much of anything much less money, but this kind of took me by surprise. I made a promise the day of the funeral and felt obligated to stick by it.
Thank you for your consideration.

I was asked if my request and my messages from and about Chis could be shared. We would be happy if anyone thought enough to share. I want folks to see this little guy as the survivor he is. If it also helps spread the word against domestic violence or spurs someone to get out of a bad situation that is a wonderful bonus.

If this fund continues to grow beyond what I originally set as a goal please be assured that the money is going to be used for Chis. Food and future vet care for sure. For training in the future. This little guy survived a horrific event for a reason. I am going to make sure that his message gets out and that he will be of service to others.
You super folks that have donated are going to make that happen.

Wednesday 11/1 7pm- Oh my goodness. I have purpose not checked this today. I am beyond shocked and humbled. I thought maybe a couple of folks might help out, but I never envisioned going over the goal. I will use some of that to pay for the little guy's food. (he is still on a special formula and canned food until the broken bones in his upper jaw heal. He was actually shot under the jaw, thru the mouth, and exited his left eye.) Some will go to his future vet bills. What I really want for Chris is to get him trained as a service dog. He won't need both eyes for narcotics detection. I also hope to use him in some form of speaking out against domestic violence. I want to honor his breeder mom. She obviously loved the little guy since she was holding him when she was murdered.
I cannot begin to thank all of you enough. Oh, Chisis adds bceofugceitucgefuceofucbefocuhou. Hey he's only 6 or 7 weeks old. He has to work on his typing skills.
