Buddy Surgery & Forever Home search

Hi! i'm Buddy. I like you. I know that because I like everybody.

Recently, life was wonderful. I lived with my human mom and human grandpa. They were elderly. My dog walkers at The Long Leash walked me twice a day.  My life was perfect!

Then 8 weeks ago, my human grandpa died. I missed him dearly, because he was the person who actually adopted me from the Pasadena Humane Society six years ago. I was thankful to have my human mom still in my life.

Two weeks later, my human mom died. I was at home with her when she transitioned. I miss her dearly. Luckily, my dog walker found me that morning and brought me home. They call me their 'foster' dog. But I miss my home too.

Before I can find my new forever family, my foster home tells me I need surgery. I need a toe amputation on my back foot. I have a growth there that has taken over my foot.

My dog walkers at The Long Leash/foster family have managed to pay $500 so far to find out two important things:

One, I had x-rays to determine if the growth is attached to my bones. It's not. Yay!

Two, I had lab tests to determine if the growth is cancerous. It's not. Yay!

I can have my toe surgery soon! I'm looking forward to having 19 toes, because I'll be even  more special than I already am. But my foster family needs help to raise some money for my surgery.

CAN YOU HELP ME?

I promise to lick you, and thank you deeply with my eyes...

A
 note from the foster family:

Buddy is a special boy who loves burrowing under the covers, only to settle upside down on his back, all fours sticking up toward the ceiling, waiting for some belly rubs. He likes to lick backs of legs as people walk around the house. He doesn't mind when the kitten thinks he's fun to pounce on. He LOVES his foster brother dog Marty, and licks his face every time they reunite after being separated for short periods of time. Buddy loves children, seniors, and everyone in between.

Thank you to Melissa for giving Buddy so many walks, and Skye for taking his beautiful photos! Thank you, dear Lucie, for making Buddy's special movie! A special thank you to our neighbors who have rallied together to help Buddy with food, beds, and most of all, walks from Elsie next door every day, while we're out dog walking all the other dogs in Pasadena! BUDDY LOVES YOU ALL!

And THANK YOU to everyone who pulls together here for Buddy! I don't know what more to say, but thank you. He is worth it. Every dog is....
