life saving treatment for Penny

Penny is just 2 1/2 years old. She suffers from mega-colon, which means her colon doesn't work to push the stool through to be eliminated (in short, she can't poop). This causes her to become severely constipated and she has to be put under anesthesia and cleaned out manually. This has become more and more frequent, twice in the past 2 weeks, and my vet has told me it's time for surgery or euthanasia. She's only 2 1/2. She eats, she plays, she snuggles, she purrs... She is just the sweetest. I hate thinking of putting her to sleep, it's killing me. I just don't have the money for surgery. Not including follow-ups, I'm looking at close to $4,000. I don't have it. I'm on disability and don't work. I have some money saved, but this would clean me out. I don't know why I was thinking surgery would only be about $1,500. It's cost me probably $2,000 so far, with getting her treated more and more over the course of the past year.  I am so embarrassed asking for hand-outs, but this is my baby. This was suggested to me, so I'm sucking it up and begging. The doctor thinks she was born with a sluggish colon and that it just got worse and worse. 2 1/2 is way too young to have this condition. Imagine becoming painfully constipated, all the time. I feel so horribly for her. And then to have someone invasively clean you out? I can't even imagine what she's gone through. Today is Valentine's Day. I have to make this decision tomorrow. She got cleaned out on Monday and she's going to start backing up again. I cannot let her go through that again. So tomorrow is surgery or I have to put her to sleep. She's so sweet. I'm struggling with this. If anyone reading this has had to face something like this, please, I'm begging you to help me.
