Surgery for Sweet Homeless Kitty

Donation protected
Meet Moe, also affectionately referred to as "Potato".

This handsome boy was found outside under a shed in 15 degree weather, crying to be let inside. He was definitely not used to being an outside kitty! Our bleeding hearts immediately brought him inside and  sadly we were never able to locate anyone looking for Moe (no microchip, collar or response to our multiple postings).

Yesterday, we took him to a vet to get him checked out. While being  confirmed negative for both FIV and FeLV,  it was discovered that Moe suffered from what is referred to as a "diaphragmatic hernia". This makes it hard for him to breathe, eat, and do just about anything else a kitty should be able to do.

Based on the type of hernia Moe has, it is most likely from trauma. This means that this sweet boy was potentially kicked or hit by a car sometime in the past.

Despite his previous bad experiences, Moe loves absolutely everyone he meets. He jumps up and starts purring anytime anyone walks into the room.

The cost of the surgery will likely be ~$2000 and any extra funds will be donated to the Compassionate Care Fund at the Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Teaching Hospital to help other sick animals with little means in the future.

Help us get this sweet boy back to 100% so he can go to the forever home he deserves!
