Surgery for my Gator

About a year and a half ago my boyfriend and I found my best friend, Gator.  We were out driving really late and I saw a pair of little eyes gleam from the headlights. I made Jon stop to see if it was a dog and to our surprise it was. We took the good boy home and tried to contact the owners but never received a call back. Ever since that day my Gator boy and I have been inseparable. The night before last I realized that my Gator wasn’t acting like himself, he wasn’t as happy and energetic as he usually is and he was standing stiff and not wanting to jump up on the bed or go up the stairs and he was very shakey. I thought that if he slept it off he would be better in the morning but instead i woke up to his puke all over my bed. I took him to the vet and at first they said he had torn his spine and gave him a shot and me some meds to give him but he still wasn’t okay. I went in today and they found out he has a blockage and needs surgery or I have to put him down. I cannot afford a $2000 surgery but I can also not afford to lose my best friend.
