Surgery for Alphonce

I met Alphonce Onchera over a year ago through my cousin Steve, who was a missionary in Africa at the time. Since then, I have been following and supporting Alphonce's good work with orphaned Kenyan children via his ministry, the Mercy Centre.


Alphonce is a godly man who is providing a much needed service to impoverished children. My cousin, Steve, has been lucky enough to visit Alphonce twice in Kenya, and has confirmed that Alphonce and his colleagues are doing good and critical work for the 20+ children in his orphanage.

Unfortunately, the work has taken a huge toll on Alphonce's health. What would be a harmless, easily treatable case of bronchitis here in America, has become life threatening for Alphonce, due to his own critical financial needs and subsequent inability to afford adequate healthcare. By the time he was able to receive adequate care, the infection had seriously damaged his heart.


Alphonce is currently in the hospital on a ventilator. He needs heart surgery as soon as possible to save his life. The cost of the surgery is approximately $2,500. This is a large sum of money, even in American terms, but it is pennies compared to what heart surgery would cost here. In other words, it's very doable. This is your and my opportunity to save a man's life!
