Help Smitty get healthy!!
Donation protected
On December 27th 2014, only 4 days after getting engaged, Sean was rushed to the ER and diagnosed with kidney failure as a result of Polycystic kidney disease (also known as PKD). This condition causes numerous fluid filled cysts to grow in the kidneys. If too many cysts grow or get too big, the kidneys can become damaged. PKD cysts can slowly replace much of the kidneys, reducing kidney function and eventually lead to kidney failure. As a result of this diagnosis, Sean started dialysis treatments 3 times a week and continued this routine for the last 2 years. On February 24th 2017, after months of tests and observation, Sean was finally blessed with a living donor. The transplant surgery process requires treatment prior to the date of surgery and a lengthy recovery. Sean and his wife will need to reside in Los Angeles for approximately 8 to 10 weeks total. They will have some assistance from their medical insurance, but they will still need a little help to maintain their Lompoc residence along with their monthly bills. Anything you can donate is greatly appreciated. Any money left over at the end of their journey will be donated to the Kidney Foundation.
