Supporting Wheelchair Bodybuilding

Donation protected

Many wheelchair bodybuilders have said that this sport saved their lives, lifting them from the depths of depression and giving their lives meaning. They dedicate their lives toward their passion, demonstrate consistent dedication, and maintain a positive mindset through tremendous hardships.

Wheelchair bodybuilding needs support in order for it to grow. I'm reaching out to you asking for help, so these athletes are able to achieve their dream.

There are a lot of people who love this sport and understand how much it means to the competitors, but they wonder: why aren't there more people competing in amateur competitions or IFBB Pro Wheelchair Bodybuilding Competitions? The sad truth is there's not enough funding for some of these athletes to be able to attend.

Some of the expenses that I want to take care of for the athletes include:
  • Airfare
  • Hotel
  • Tanning
  • Creating high-quality trophies and awards
  • Developing custom competition apparel and team apparel
  • Graphics for the competitions
  • Hiring photographers and videographers to capture pictures and videos of the athletes to share with fans in-person and online

Anyone who makes a donation or offers a sponsorship is given a receipt from the Wheelchair Athletics Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, so you can use the money you gave as a tax deduction.

Common Questions and Answers:

Question: Don't companies help out? What about sponsorships from businesses? There must be a lot of funding available for this sport.

Answer: The sad truth is that companies aren't interested in supporting this sport. I've personally reached out to more than 1,000 companies over many years, and they consistently tell me they don't see any value in putting money toward wheelchair bodybuilding. When companies spend money (invest), they're looking to get a return on their investment, and they don't think this is the sport to invest in. Now, some helpful companies have given products to the athletes, but this doesn't help pay the large expenses for someone to attend a competition.

Question: It can't be that expensive for an athlete to compete in a bodybuilding competition, could it?

Answer: The costs for an athlete to attend a competition is often much higher than you may expect. Athletes fly in from all over the world, then they have to pay to stay in a hotel for at least three days. Airfare and hotel expenses alone cost anywhere from $800 to $1,700 or more for one person. Of course, we want to make the event special for the competitors, so more money is required to pay for photographers and videographers, in addition to purchasing trophies, awards, and custom competition apparel that's worthy of these amazing people.

My Dream

My dream and goal that I'm working toward is to have the IFBB Pro Wheelchair Division added to the Mr. Olympia Contest. If this happens, all the athletes who would be competing would have all their expenses paid, so they could focus on training without having the constant worry about money in the back of their minds.

I've spent many years pursuing my dream, and now I'm reaching out to you, the people. I'm offering multiple levels of sponsorships, and I want to personally reach out to and keep in touch with as many people as possible. I truly value every contribution, and your help is greatly appreciated. Rewards are given out for each level of contribution, so please take a look below to see the personalized gifts and benefits you can receive.

Every higher tier gets all the rewards of the lower tiers, plus the listed rewards.
