Supporting Todd & Lorna Gillette

Donation protected
If there is one thing my parents have taught me that I hold most dear, it is the significance of sacrifice and the spiritual healing of giving. My parents know this teaching well and continue to sacrifice and give to others even when times are tough. Sadly times continue to be tough for my parents, and now is the time when they need your help.

It's no mystery to our friends and family that they have experienced hard times. My mom Lorna went through her first wind of Stage III Breast Cancer five years ago, and she went through years of chemotherapy, radiation, and putting her work and passions on hold while she recovered. My dad Todd continued to be supportive, staying by her side throughout recovery.

While seemingly in remission, my grandparents then began to endure hardships of their own- with medical surgeries and strenuous recovery. After discussing with the Gillette family, my parents gave up their home, my mom shut down her in-home daycare, and they moved back to the family home to help my grandparents in need of support. Now a couple years later, my mom's cancer has come back and she was diagnosed with metastatic Stage IIII Breast Cancer in her bones and is going through treatment again. Unfortunately the chemo treatment she is on now has been linked to causing her recent diagnosis of Diabetes Type I, and is now taking insulin and medication with side effects that have greatly affected her livelihood.

Her oncologist has made it clear that in order to fight this battle of multiple diseases, she needs all of her energy to be dedicated to herself and healing process. She needs to be her own caretaker.

My parents no longer have their own home, or the double income they once had. They do not have the financial means to find a new home for themselves so they can start anew while my mom continues her battle to heal. So it is now that I ask you- to please help my parents who have spent their adult lives caring for others and doing all they can to help those they love.

Every penny donated will be going directly to my parents so they can find a new home and keep up with the medical bills that continue to flow in. It's winter time in the Midwest, so moving during the cold weather is not ideal. They are looking to move in the springtime, so we would like to raise enough money so they have the ability to do so. Your support means the world to me, my siblings, and our family as a whole. It has been really hard watching them struggle, when all we want for them is to be happy and able to heal.

Please help my parents get through this difficult time.
