A few words from the founders of RPL:

We will fight the darkness
With the spark inside us
And the strength of a trillion suns
We’re the ones
We’ve only just begun
We’re the ones!
- From “One Star Apart” original Read, Play, Love musical

Children singing about changing the world is healing to the heart. But what if it could actually heal the world?

At Read Play Love, we believe that the arts are vital to instill the empathy, compassion and leadership skills that will reshape the generations of the future.

Read Play Love is a non-profit family creativity center in Richardson/N. Dallas that provides unique resources and experiences to spark educational growth and personal expression through creativity. We are looking to expand beyond our highly regarded theatre program and offer classes in creative arts - music, acting, dance, language and visual arts - and need your help!

One thing that separates Read Play Love from most other organizations is our primary goal is to empower all kids and reach even those children that other organizations might shy away from. At Read Play Love, ALL children are welcome and learn to collaborate and launch one-of-a-kind productions -- brand new musicals for a new generation!

We have just launched an original musical called “One Star Apart” – an inspiring interplanetary tale that explores themes of diversity, acceptance and compassion. The show has been well received and highly praised for its original story and deeply moving songs, and we are now creating the First Worldwide Online Musical, inviting children from all over the world to submit their versions of the scenes and songs to collaborate in an interactive, online video musical of “One Star Apart” ! This way, even children with limited arts resources in underprivileged parts of the world can still be part of a shared experience with peers from across the globe! With your help, we can make this happen this coming year!

Read Play Love also wants to do all we can locally to strengthen community relationships among diverse families, and in 2017, we will produce the first annual event arts event called ‘RAYS’ – the Richardson Arts Youth Summit, uniting local arts organizations to serve kids and families in difficult-to-reach areas to collaborate in and celebrate the arts!

While we may not be able to solve all the world’s problems immediately, we fervently believe that we can plant and nurture the seeds that can!

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Chinese Proverb
