Supporting Lilian's burns treatment

Donation protected
We are in the process of raising funds for a 14-month-old Syrian refugee female child who experienced burns after boiling water spilt on her on the 28th of April 2019. The front of her torso, parts of her back and parts of the upper limbs, neck and lower part of her face are all affected. These are second-degree burns. The child was assessed on the day of the accident by Dr Feras Alghadban from Endless Medical Advantage who suggested immediate hospital admission. She was taken to Al Hilal hospital in Bekaa where they dressed the wounds and sent the child home. The next morning Dr Feras reassessed the patient at home and re-advised immediate hospital admission. The parents were unable to take the child to the hospital for further treatment due to lack of funds. She had dressings changed and was then taken to Geitawi hospital in Beirut who quoted a very large amount of money to admit her, which parents could not afford. Eventually, after many phone calls and pressure on local hospitals as well as involving influential individuals, we were able to admit this child at Al Salam hospital today, the 30th of April where there is a specialist unit for such injuries in children. UNHCR is expected to cover 75% of costs for the whole admission stay, but 25 % needs to be covered by the family. We have raised some funds already through call outs, but we do not know how long she will need to stay in hospital. We need your continued support and efforts in raising funds for her ongoing treatment.
