OUR STORY:
Gigi is a 37 year old woman who is significantly disabled and will be for life as there is no hope for a “cure” because she suffers from multiple chronic (third stage) complicated systemic infections and diseases.
Gigi was continually misdiagnosed for years and therefore these infections were detected too late where they had significantly damaged her organs, nervous system and severely compromised her immune system.
Her current medical prognosis is poor. Her major condition is rare and little is known about it. It is progressive in nature, degenerative and life threatening.
Gigi is very alone in the world, every day her body is struggling with the most basic function. She is bedbound, on oxygen and her multiple symptoms are aggressive and painful. This fundraising site is her main financial support and life line.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS FUNDRAISING PAGE:
This is how your are directly and positively helping her and her quality of life and where the money is going. This is not all her living expenses but her most valued and critical to keep her alive.
1. PAYING FOR A QUALIFIED CARER.
An Occupational Therapist assessed Gigi, reporting she needs minimum 8 hours a day 7 days a week, plus 25 hours additional support per week.
2. PAYING FOR MEDICAL EXPENSES AND SPECIALIST APPOINTMENTS AND ASSESSMENTS NEEDED.
Gigi's doctors told her she would die in 2014, it is a miracle she is alive. Your collective donations and spreading awareness means the world to Gigi and she is eternally grateful. It is keeping her alive. Hope must and will always remain.
