Please help support Jennifer (Simmons) Ransom in her journey to continue fighting against breast cancer which began in August 2013.
Jenni is currently on chemotherapy treatment for metastatic breast cancer, stage iv. Her oncologists (Dr. Fink, Dr. Nazir and Dr. Lisa Carey at UNC) have told her that she will be "living with cancer" and will have to stay on chemotherapy treatments for life.
After a successful lumpectomy in September 2013 to remove the initial cancer, she had six cycles of chemo and then followed that with about 3 months of radiation and a year of further targeted chemo treatment.
In June of 2015, another mass was discovered close to the original one in the same breast and she restarted full chemotherapy on her birthday in July. We then found out it had also spread to an area on her sternum. Because of this further surgery is not presently an option.
This is a very short description for an everyday battle she is living and in no way can I put into words the physical and emotional tolls of just making it through each day and believe me, every single day is a fight and an accomplishment.
We have been blessed with so many family members, friends and neighbors that have shown love, compassion and support constantly for our family.
We decided to make this and current updates on here so family and those who want to donate can follow more easily.
This is a difficult time for us financially and any level of support you can give is greatly appreciated, which will go directly to Jenni for medical bills, Rx and OTC medicines, comfort items and support for our family including her two daughters.
