Thankful for Phyllis Tuckwell

My Grandpops, Michael  Butt, was diagnosed with cancer of the bile duct several years ago and passed away on the 6th of December 2018. He was a bright and extremely caring man, to everyone he knew, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered, even whilst he was going through painful and draining treatments, he always wanted to comfort others.  Before he became less active, he was a practical and handy man, always knowing how to fix things, not only with hardware, but personally, as he always knew how to make light of even the hardest scenarios we would find ourselves in.

During his journey with this disease he received amazing care from Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham, who provided him with outstanding palliative care during his last few months with us. I wanted to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell in a way of thanks, for providing not only my Grandpops with wonderful personalised and respectful care,
but for the emotional support they provided for my family also. I wish to donate the money I raise from this so that they can continue to provide outstanding care for many more people like my Grandpops in the future.

To raise money for this wonderful service, I will be shaving my head on the 23rd of April, a weekend after Grandpops' birthday and on my own birth date. I will also be donating the hair to Little Princess Trust, a company who provide real hair wigs to children and adults up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. I chose this trust personally as I believe that it is vital for anyone with cancer to feel confident and happy in their own skin.
