Support for Luke to stay home.

UPDATE. I am very lucky to have my son Luke who is 16yrs old with complex needs.  Luke has had 11brain surgeries with 2 shunts in place, 1 for a cyst that couldn't be removed and one where he had hydrocephalus. NOW THERE ARE 4 NEW CYSTS TOO.. Luke has severe learning disabilities, epilepsy, hypermobilty and low tone tone muscle problems, autisitc spectrum and challenging behaviour.  Luke has been assessed as needing 2-1 care in some areas.  However I have had to fund privately carers or rely on support from family & friends, for over the last 16 months after a care plan in place was no longer in place. AFTER 4 MORE SURGERIES LAST YEAR & 4 NEW CYSTS FINALLY SOME FUNDING FOR CARERS IN PLACE BUT NOT ENOUGH HRS ALLOCATED BY LOCAL AUTHORITY. I too have disabilities and my health has deteriorated over this period.  I have had to cancel operations for myself, delay taking new medication,  as this would mean Luke going into care & I do not want this to happen as it would have a detrimental affect on  Luke, myself, our family & friends as may not even be local.  All I want is to be able to have my son living at home with me and the correct level of support needed to be in place to enable Luke to live life to the full and reach his full potentials; be able to go out and be part of the local community and not have to worry about simple task such as having a bath or simply going taking Luke to enjoy the dancing he loves! I am grateful to all for your support in raising funds so I can them employ carers to keep Luke at home.
