We're over the moon for Declan and his family, who welcomed twins Joseph and Alana (joining big sister Sophia) on April 24, 2018.
Since then, however, it's been a roller coaster for Dec and his family. In addition to the typical things to watch out for when delivering twins pre-term. Unfortunately, after the delivery, Dec's lovely wife Camila wasn't feeling well and was admitted and diagnosed with heart failure, a condition called peripartum cardiomyopathy. Dec's family has had some truly scary moments since then filled with lots of tests, meetings with specialists, and emotional times.
We're thrilled to report that both Camila and the twins are heading home this week, but this is only the start of their journey as they get adjusted to having the twins at home and maintaining Camila's health.
Many of you have asked how you can help. Right now, the thing that Dec and his family need most is support at home in the form of nursing care for both the babies and Camila. If you'd like to offer your support, we'd encourage you to donate the the fund we've established - the goal will help us give Dec a week's work of round-the-clock support.
