Support Umar's battle against severe TB Meningitis

It is with a very heavy heart, we write this about our friend, Umar Fizal Huk…
Umar from India, aged 32, a devoted husband and loving father of a 4-year-old daughter went to Emergency Room at Cleveland Clinic-Ohio on January 5, 2019, for headache and pain on his lower back. He was diagnosed with Tuberculosis Meningitis in aggressive state, a rare form of TB affecting Spine & Brain. He was immediately admitted to Intensive Care Unit for treatment. Despite multiple surgeries and treatments, this severe infection has now left him in a complete disabled state affecting physical and mental capabilities. He is on critical care treatment for the past six months with continuous supervision and monitoring. This sudden diagnosis has been devastating to Umar and his family. Umar is the only breadwinner and now with no income, there is financial distress to the family since his admission to hospital in January. Umar is completely paralyzed, bedridden and unconscious now. He is completely on medications, which is being administered through tubes, and nothing orally. It is very disheartening to see such a cheerful person turned to unresponsive state.
Those who know Umar would vouch for him being the most loyal of friends, fun-loving and caring. He is inspiring and always interacts with smile and humor. His presence ensures a fun-filled environment. He is also an incredible artist with a kind helping heart.
Umar has started showing minor progress. Moved fingers on his own; yes, it is sad to say that this is a progress. Doctors are saying that it could take many years for his recovery. Because of immigration issues, Umar and his family cannot stay in the US for long time. He needs air ambulance with separate medical team to move to India, which is very expensive (~$200k), and insurance is not covering the cost (only a small portion even if it covers). The family needs financial support for his continued treatment here in US as well as after moving to India (~$175k or more).
