Support the Macedo family after a tragic accident

Donation protected
In the evening of Friday, December 21st, Wagner suffered a tragic accident that caused him to lose his left leg.  On his commute home from work the parked van that belongs to the dry cleaning company where he works popped out of gear and started to roll backwards.  In a panicked attempt to stop the vehicle from continuing to roll and hit other pedestrians, Wagner fell and his left leg was completely crushed by the weight of the front wheel of the 15 passenger van.  We're extremely thankful that his life was spared when the wheel miraculously turned and a good samaritan (Joe Bitoupolis) used his belt to make a tourniquet around his leg and slow down his bleeding until emergency responders arrived.

It was Wagner designated work duty to use the company vechicle in order to give rides to many of his co-workers who were unable to drive themselves.  In May of 2018 his company moved to a farther location so they purchased an old 15 passenger van that Wagner could use to continue to pick up many of his co workers.  The tragic accident happened after he had dropped off the last of his co workers on Friday and had stopped on his way home.

At 61, Wagner still worked long hours on his feet most of the day in order to provide for his family in the U.S and in Brazil. Wagner arrived to the U.S from Brazil over 20 years ago with the dream of a better life for his family.  Over the past decades he worked hard to provide for his family and spent all of his savings on attorney and other legal fees in order to become permanent residents of the U.S.  He has always LOVED this country and always dreamed of being able to live here long term.  His dream came true in 2016 when he was granted permanent residency here after a long and hard journey.  He's a passionate about his faith in Jesus, his family (specially his 3 grandchildren!), and America.

Since the accident Wagner has undergone 2 surgeries, both have been successful. It is unpredictable, how long this healing process will take. Wagner will also need therapies and have to learn to do life without his left leg.

But if anyone knows Wagner, you can attest to his contagious joy and laughter. He is strong and will surely rely on the good Lord to help him in this process.  Wagner has spent his entire life putting the needs of others first, not just his family's but everyone he comes in contact with!  We want to help give him a year to put his needs first, please consider helping with any monetary gift and continued prayers.

We'd love for this family to spend the next year focusing on  giving him the care that he needs and seeing him adjust to this new way of life.
