Support the Garcia Family ALS Diagnosis

Hi everyone, my name is Natalia Gil, and I'm raising money right now to help support my family financially after a devastating family medical diagnosis. I've been meaning to do this for quite some time, but have always felt ashamed for reaching out. This time however, we are in desperate need.

    August 16, 2016, my mother Luz Angela Garcia was diagnosed with ALS, a debilitating, progressive neurological disease, most people associate with Stephen Hawking. 

    My mom ran a successful cleaning business in San Francisco reaching up to 30+ clients at a time, after her diagnosis she kept working directly onsite with her employees for another whole year, even when she had to start using crutches, even when she had to eventually use a walker. Even though she had falls everyday, she kept at it. She physically stopped summer 2017. She kept running the business even when she could no longer move on her own or feed herself. Finally my father, who also has a job of his own,  and I took over for her when she could no longer speak. But without her at the helm, the business unfortunately did not survive no matter how much we tried to be as good as she was. We went from 30 to 20 to 10 to less then 5 clients and eventually had to close it down officially. We filed for bankruptcy shortly after.

    You may be wondering why now, well recently she was put on a Hospice program, meaning she required much more attention and care. For some time now I have been unemployed in order to care for her 24/7 and to allow my father to work enough to keep us afloat on his sole income, but it has all caught up to us very quickly. We have no safety net left, no savings. 

    I will be using the money donated to help pay for any overdue property bills accumulated during her diagnosis. 

    I am asking whoever can help us out in this time of need to please donate whatever they can. I am sad that my mother had to lose her beloved business she looked after for 20 years. I don't want her to potentially lose a house she worked hard for as well. I don't wish to see the little time she has left be filled with stress, anguish or guilt. I want her to know that we will be ok. When she eventually leaves this earth.
