The Ford Galaxie Club of America is now in it's 34th year of existence. Founded in 1983 by Bill Barber, Bill directed the club for the first 13 years since his idea became a reality. In 1996 Bill handed the club over to Mark Reynolds to impliment some of the ideas that Mark had for increasing the club size and for making the Galaxie marque a sought after one in the collector car field.
Since taking over the club, the club publication has increased from a 10 page newsletter to a 40 page mostly color slick paged magazine that rivals the quality of magazines seen on the news stand. To keep costs down and the dues from increasing Mark appeals to the membership for donations for needed items rather then taking them from the dues.
If folks on this Facebook page that are utilizing the club for help in restoring, advice, finding parts, or just plain having fun with fellow Galaxie owners would be willing to donate $2 each, the club would be able to obtain a new computer (currently the one they use is over 6 years old. Prices for what we need are about $1300 including some software updates) a new printer (currently the one they use is over 10 years old. Price for what we need is about $600-$700 including spare printing cartridges) and help fellow members who are on fixed incomes and some who are out of work maintain their memberships in the club. (Hardship fund) Currently we have over $250 in the hardship fund and it is being used to help members who have run into financial difficulties maintain their membership. The hardship fund is typically supported by members who add additional funds to their dues payment.
So if you can help, we are only asking YOU for $2.00. Please help support YOUR hobby and the club so we can continue to reach the dreams and goals we are aiming for.
This drive will also allow us to see how valueable this Facebook page really is to YOU. We spend many hours devoted to the club fielding phone calls, helping members find parts and spending time assembling the magazine each issue.
