Support Team LoftonFilms in DC's 48-Hour Film Festival

The weekend? May 17 - 19, 2019

The challenge?
To make a film in only 48 hours!  Each film-making team is given the same character, prop and a line of dialogue that they must use and each team draws a genre from a blind drawing.  Then the teams have 48 hours to make a 7-minute movie from screenwriting to final editing in only 48 hours.  Think Iron Chef but for movie making!

The goal?
Filmmakers from all over the Washington, DC area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours.  All of the short films are debuted on screen at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center and viewers in attendance vote on their favorites.  There are numerous awards categories and the winners are announced a screening of the finalists at the AFI.  The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2020 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2020 Short Film Corner.

The Group?
Team LoftonFilms  has competed together in three DC 48-H film competitions, racking up numerous awards.  Our film Alloway Lane  won Second Place in the Washington, DC overall this past October in the Horror/Sci-Fi competition.  It also won:
·       Producer Award
·       Best Editing
·       Best Score
·       Best Scream
·      Best Poster
·       Best Monster (Honorable Mention)
·       Best Special FX / VFX (Honorable Mention)

The Costs?
48HR contest rules mandate all cast and crew must be volunteers.  No members will be paid during the making of this movie and no costs will be spent on professional services.  In order to build and improve on our production all donations made will help cover costs such as renting additional equipment, costumes, locations or props, and most importantly the fuel we need to keep Team LoftonFilms going. This is a tight contest - we create a film in 48 hours.  We don’t get a lot of sleep but we do need food and caffeine.

The Credit?
This is your chance to see your name in lights.  Well, not really but it will appear in the credits of a short film that will show on-screen at the AFI, be posted to LoftonFilms YouTube channel, and on Amazon Prime after the festival competition wraps.

All who donate, regardless of the amount, will receive a “Special Thank You” acknowledgement in the credits and updates on the film (notifications of viewings at AFI, awards considerations, online publication notifications).

Donate $50 and you’ll also receive a ticket to the group screening at the AFI (date to be announced).

Donate $100 and you’ll be listed in the credits as an Associate Producer and receive a screening ticket and movie poster print.

Donate $250 and you’ll be listed in the credits as a Producer and receive a screening ticket and movie poster print.

Donate $500 and you’ll be listed in the credits, on the movie poster and, if the film wins an award, on the IMDb page as an Executive Producer and receive a screening ticket and movie poster print.

Most of all, no matter what your donation level, you will earn our deepest gratitude.

If you're unable to make a monetary contribution, sharing our GoFundMe campaign would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and we’ll see you at the movies!
