Cannabis is now legal, but it is being ILLEGALLY sold in Barnstable, often by criminals who DON'T check IDs and DON'T pay taxes. We need to REGULATE it to ensure it stays out of the hands of children, and in the hands of our responsible friends and neighbors — our local small business community — who will check IDs and will pay taxes.
The Massachusetts adult-use cannabis market is expected to reach $1.8 billion in Massachusetts by 2021. Our Cape population continues to decline, as our young people are forced to seek employment elsewhere. Let's create high paying jobs and small business opportunities in Barnstable, the business hub of Cape Cod!
Unfortunately, Barnstable Town Council is taking action that will BAN the local small business opportunities in the business hub of Cape Cod.
