Support Shiloh's Recovery from Cancer

As many of you know, Shiloh was recently hospitalized in April with a rupturing appendix which was removed and had a tumor with a rare form of cancer, (mixed goblet cell carcinoid adenocarcinoma). A team of doctors has assessed that the cancer is also located in her nerves and peritoneum, (the smooth tissue membrane forming the lining of her abdominal cavity) and may be spreading.
They all agree that Shiloh will need a right hemicolectomy in the immediate future and to begin her path of treatment. It is not clear for how long or to what extent Shiloh’s road to recovery may be.
Shiloh has recently secured health insurance yet prior to health care coverage, over $40,000 of medical expenses were incurred due to the emergency surgery. Shiloh will likely face four times as much as what she already owes in further medical testing, procedures, surgery, and doctor’s visits.
Even with coverage, she will face a multitude of costs over the coming weeks and months ahead. Some of these costs we know, and others we don’t. However, we anticipate a mounting financial burden and want to ensure Shiloh is well taken care of as she undergoes treatment.

Costs include:
- Healthcare costs not covered by insurance, including deductibles, copays, out-of-network doctors that may be needed, and simply uncovered expenses (possibly including home healthcare for a period)
- Costs of living (there is a chance that Shiloh’s income gets reduced at some point)
