The SCAN you rock mural
Hi everyone I'm Kay (Scan wife)!
I am raising money for the M. Cando non profit organization to fund a commemorative mural in honour of artist / muralist Alex Scaner "SCAN” (my husband). To be painted by more than 30 renowned local and international artists, the 7250 square foot mural will create a major impact visible from the new Turcot Highway Interchange in Montreal, currently the largest road project in Canada. Given the high costs of a production of this size, we need your contribution to realize this symbolic project. Since we are planning to produce the mural at the end of August, the sooner that we will receive your contribution the easier it will be for us to go a head. We are very gratefull for your quick response.
SCAN
The artist, Alex Scaner, passed on September 9th following an 8-year battle with cancer. One of the most prolific graffiti artists of his generation, he is world-renowned for his agility, flamboyant colours, and passion for bold urban interventions. Over his 20 year career, Scaner left an indelible mark and redefined the limits of graffiti while showing endless generosity for the community.

Your contribution
A project of this magnitude usually requires an investment of more than $50,000. Since all the artists involved are committed to donating their time, the funds raised will be used to finance the rental of aerial work platforms, scaffolding, safety equipment, as well as paint and transportation for artists. Every donation counts and every little contribution will help us. A special recognition will be given to those who contribute more than $200 by having their names written on the wall.
Why it's important
Through the creation of this mural, we wish to emphasize the importance that Scan has had in our lives, and to share the values he bequeathed to us; passion, courage, sharing, and dedication. The influence of this project on the participants and the viewers alike will allow them to realize the grandeur of Scan’s work and message.
