This is the most difficult position my brother and I have ever been put in, but at this point we would do anything to help our mom, as she's done so much for us, raising the both of us alone since our father passed away. All we want is for her to be healthy, to be able to do the things she wants to do and to be able to see us get married and have families when the time comes.
Many of you may not know, but last year my mom Jacqueline was diagnosed with stage three ovarian cancer, a very rare and aggressive type of cancer. We are remaining as positive as we can be, but we are looking to other ways to help my mom recover sooner. All we want is for my mom to be happy and healthy again, and for her to be by our side as it should be.
Last June she had surgery, followed a few weeks later by chemotherapy for half a year. Fast forward to June of this year - both the doctors and my family were taken aback to learn that the cancer had returned. She immediately re-started her second round of chemotherapy in less than a year, with the stakes even higher as this round may take a greater toll on her body.
We all love her – she is a beacon of light and a caring friend to all, as well as a hard-working and dedicated daughter and single mother. Now it's our turn to help her. Knowing how much she is dealing with, my family and I have started this GoFundMe page to support her.
The GoFundMe contributions will be used to finance a treatment available in Mexico called Gerson Therapy, which is a form of immuno-nutrition therapy. It uses lower doses of conventional oncological medications to cause damage to cancer cells, while at the same time stimulating the innate immune system to recognize the danger signals and attack the cancer cells. A strict greens-only diet is also involved with this treatment. This treatment is not available in Canada, nor is it covered or subsidized in any manner and is very expensive. The contributions will also be used to cover airfare, accommodations and anything my mom might need during her time there.
We invite you to contribute at this critical time, and any amount will be helpful and gratefully received. Your gifts will be administered by me, her eldest son.
