This morning, February 5th, our friend/coworker Asia lost her father unexpectedly. Im not sure how anyone can prepare for the loss of a loved one, let alone the loss of multiple loved ones. Asia lost her mom when she was young and her grandmother quickly became her mother figure growing up. Her grandmother passed away a few months ago.
After her grandmother passed away a few months ago, Asia decided to collect money for a fund called "Sunshine Club." This fund was put in place for when any of our coworkers lost a loved one, Asia had a collection to send flowers and a card. It was as simple as all of us on the floor donating a few dollars to allow her to do this.
Unfortunately, it is Asia that is grieving again. My coworkers and I know she would never set this up for herself so we decided to do it for her because now she needs the support. The funds will go to Asia to help with the funeral expenses.
She is working full time as a nurse, back in school, attempting to pay student loans, and now planning/paying for own father's funeral. Asia is experiencing something no 27 year old should have to experience.
My coworkers and I are not sure how she does it but she is one strong woman that still manages to put others needs before her own. Her strength is admirable in so many ways. Any amount of donation is much appreciated to help Asia pay for expenses during this difficult time.
