Mellisa is a bright and energetic twenty year old with many talents and dreams. Music is her passion and she is a gifted guitar player. She currently works locally at a retail store and enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. Mellisa always has a smile on her face and shares a hug with everyone she meets.

This beautiful young lady’s life had changed rapidly in April 2019, when she was diagnosed with a life changing illness. Ulcerative Colitis (UC) is an autoimmune disease which affects the colon (large intestine). This illness includes digestive complications, as well as many gastrointestinal disorders. This means that Mellisa will have a restricted diet on a continual basis along with frequent medical care and daily medications for the rest of her life.

Ulcerative Colitis (UC) progresses in phases with intermittent remissions (dormant, asymptomatic periods). Mellisa knows she can live a full productive life, while she manages this illness of hers. But she can’t do it alone! While she undergoes continual medical care and treatment, she is needing your support financially to ease some of the stress which comes from battling this ugly illness.
