Lucio Perez bravely refused to follow his October 19th, 2017 deportation order & faithfully entered sanctuary at the First Congressional Church in Amherst, Ma. He has been living in the US since 1996. He is the father of four children & a leader in his Springfield church. He fled Guatemala due to a US backed military regime that committed genocide. As an experienced organizer, Lucio joined the Pioneer Valley Workers Center to lead a campaign against his deportation. Lucio understands how in winning his case, we can build a movement to win justice for all undocumented immigrants.

Lucio has been living in Sanctuary for nearly 6 months. While he continues his organizing work from inside the church, he is unable to work his full-time paid landscaping job. This is a huge hardship for his family which includes four children. We know how hard this experience has been for him and his family let's make sure that money is not an added stress.

As of this moment we have been able to raise enough money for Lucio's family of 6.  We know that the appeals process for his case could take another few months and we want to make sure we have the reserves needed for Lucio and his family to make ends meet.

This fund was created  in order to allow for an easier donation process for you all, our community, to donate to Lucio!
