Support Kristen's Recovery

In 2017, Kristen suffered an extremely rare spinal stroke that paralyzed her legs and midsection. She worked hard in rehab with courage, determination, and her trademark sense of humor. In 6 months, she progressed from bedridden to walking laboriously with a cane. She amazed and inspired everyone, earning the nickname “Wonder Woman.”
Then her progress stopped.

Every day is a constant struggle for Kristen now. She used to perform 6 weddings a week in her role as a wedding minister. Now she can only do 1 or 2, and they exhaust her for days. She spends hours in the bathroom every night and every day because her intestines and bladder don’t work. She endures nearly constant stinging nerve pain in her back. Her “new” body severely limits her work and social activity. She tries to remain upbeat but battles depression.

Even with hard work and help from friends, Kristen can’t pay her basic bills. Her husband, David, is a professional actor and public-school teacher; he barely breaks even on his own basic bills each month.
