Life, our health and love is precious, friends.  Sometimes in the blink of an eye,  we can suddenly find ourselves in the hospital being told scary words like "malignant tumors" and "hysterectomy" when just the day before we thought we were healthy, and such words were not even on our radar. This stuff is scary as hell and became a reality last week to one of the most beautiful humans that I know, Kris Schaefer. Friday night Kris thought she just has some unusual pain and couldn't pee, and then the next day she found herself being checked in the ER at St. Mary's and being told that, "chemo isn't so bad these days, you can do it at home now."  Not a conversation anyone wants to casually have. From chillin' on a Friday night to contemplating cancer treatment on Saturday, October 13.  Not easy or fun or comprehensible stuff.

Kris ended up staying for 5 days in the hospital which led to finding out that she had a type of cancer called endometrioid carcinoma of the ovaries.  This cancer was centralized on the outside of her ovaries and the latest news is that they were able to remove it all with a hysterectomy that was performed earlier this week.  Kris is still awaiting confirmation that indeed all of the cancer was successfully removed, we will have more information later this week.

Kris will not be able to work for 6 weeks and then after then on only a handful of clients. As a self employed person, not being able to work means not being able to pay one's bills, not to mention that Kris and her husband the rad Jeff Rogers still await the hospital and medical expenses.

Kris has been a body worker for 31 years and it's likely that if you are reading this that you know of her magic and LOVE and expertise with her craft and skill.  She has held thousands of clients over her 3 decades of service in Chicago and Tucson, and I personally know that Tucson is so much more beautiful because of all of the love that Kris has poured into our community,

Please take a moment to support our beloved our local Tucson Shero!  I have seen Tucson rally so freakin' epically when beloveds are in need of support and I am SO PROUD of Tucson for this phenomenal tribe that we are and I love that we offer to one another abundantly and so wholeheartedly in time of need.

Thank you thank you thank you,
with gratitude and love,
Jade
