Many of you know Kelli Ridgeway Scheuerman and the battle she is courageously fighting; for those of you who do not know Kelli, allow me to tell you her story.
Kelli, 36, is a wife and mother of two beautiful children. She enjoys dancing and singing, mushroom hunting with her family, repurposing and crafting.
In November 2016 Kelli was diagnosed with Guillen Barre Syndrome (GBS). GBS is a rare disorder in which a person’s own immune system damages their nerve cells, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. Kelli’s recovery from this disorder was a long one. She had many setbacks and had to relearn how to walk multiple times. She still suffers from the effects of this syndrome to date.
Kelli is currently suffering from an auto immune disease attacking her Hepatobiliary (Liver Gallbladder) which has advanced to liver failure and blood loss. She has suffered several episodes of acute blood loss requiring numerous blood transfusions. At this point, it is critical Kelli receives a liver transplant, or a transplant from a live donor. Miraculously, Kelli has a cousin who has stepped up as a live donor and we are eternally grateful.
Due to her lengthy battle with multiple heath issues, Kelli has been forced put all of her hobbies and essentially her life on hold as she does not have the strength to do them. Something as simple as a trip to the store in her small community wipes her out completely. She is no longer able to work, is in and out of the hospital and the medical costs are building.
This Go Fund Me campaign is to assist in providing Kelli with the necessary funds to cover travel, lost wages for her family, preliminary testing and assessment for a liver transplant.
Without this transplant Kelli’s prognosis is life threatening.
