Donation protected
Recently, heartbreaking news has been broken to a wonderful caring family, their 2nd child has been diagnosed with Stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Alan and Sylvie are proud parents of Pierre-Luc and Geneviève. Pierre-Luc, Gen’s older brother just recently beat his battle with Cancer, he was also diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in October of 2017 and finished his treatments in January of 2018.  We, the friends of Geneviève and her family, have establish this fund to assist with the cost associated with her battle to beat Cancer.

As friends of Gen, we would like to share why she is such an amazing person. It is difficult to place in words what this young girl means to so many people.

Geneviève Haché was born and raised in Bathurst NB. She is a beautiful, happy and loving daughter, little sister, wonderful friend and teammate. Her smile lights up a room along with her infectious laugh and her caring heart. Growing up, she has been involved in many sports, including hockey, soccer, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and many more. Every sport that Gen touches, she is exceptional at. Her focus on hard work, teamwork and strength allowed her to excel in all sports. Geneviève found a big love for the game of hockey. Her passion for hockey grew more and more each year, she grew up playing with Bathurst Minor Hockey Association followed by AAA female hockey. Her dedication, determination and hard work gained her a position on the New-Brunswick Female Provincial team. She is currently a grade ten student at École Secondaire Nepisiguit in Bathurst. Just like sports, she also excels in school. Because of the recent events, Gen was unable to participate alongside her teammates during the Midget AAA Female Hockey Atlantic Championships and has needed to put her studies aside. Gen is being treated at the IWK in Halifax.

Two days before the beginning of the Female Atlantic Hockey Championships, Gen was sent to Halifax to undergo more tests. Two days later, she was diagnosed. Unable to be at the opening ceremonies and most of the games, her teammates hung her jersey on the bench as she watched the games from her hospital bed in Halifax. Being such an amazing teammate, she came back home to show her strength and support for her team as they headed into the finals. During the final game, she came on the bench and encouraged and motivated her teammates all throughout the game. With all her encouragement and support, we, her teammates want to give all the love, strength, support, encouragement and motivation she always gave us. Even though our season came to an end, we will always stay together as a team by Gen’s side through this fight. #TeamGen

Gen has a giant mountain to climb, but with her determination, her strength and the love and support from her family and friends, she will beat this battle, just like her big brother.

Thank you for taking the time to read Geneviève’s story. Any support for the cost of treatment, travel and accommodations would be truly appreciated.
