Support for Ken Silvey and Family

On Sunday April 1st, 2018 my father Kenneth Silvey suffered from a major ruptured brain aneurysm along with 2 heart attacks . He was rushed to Osceola Medical Center via ambulance, but then was immediately put on a life flight helicopter to the level 1 trauma center at Regions Medical Center in Saint Paul Minnesota.
While being treated in flight to Regions he also suffered from 2 strokes, one on each side of the brain. Upon arrival he underwent two emergency surgeries to relieve pressure on the brain and stop the inner cranial bleeding. My dad remains in the Surgical ICU where he is in good hands with the amazing professionals and equipment required for the best chance for recovery.
He is heavily sedated to keep him relaxed and pressure in safe ranges, he is also connected to a ventilator to assist with his labored breathing. The doctors and nurses have constantly been monitoring his sedatives in order to accurately gauge his cognitive abilities, when his sedation is lowered he is able to recognize friends and family and communicate with hospital staff using subtle head and hand movements.
While his condition has stabilized since the last surgery he remains in critical condition under constant supervision.
This has been one of the hardest events in my family and has been very difficult to comprehend everything that has been happening. There has been so much love and emotional support from family and friends, which is beyond the word appreciated. Anything will help and will go towards my fathers treatment and with much hope his future rehabilitation. Thank you so much for your thoughts and support.
