Support for Ginny Vondy & Family

As you may or may not know -- Ginny Vondy -- the wife, mom, daughter, sister, cousin and friend that we love -- continues to be caught up in the fight of her life -- a fight with Breast Cancer that has now metastasized to her brain, spine and nerves.   This second bout with the fast-growing HER2 Breast cancer has brought Ginny and Steve back to the cancer center at the University of Colorado Hospital, in Denver.   Just a couple weeks ago, Ginny was feeling strong and well -- after recovering from a year and a half of intense Breast cancer treatment.

And then Ginny started experiencing new symptoms and pain.   After being shrugged off and turned away by local ERs multiple times in the weeks leading up to the brain tumor discovery -- Ginny was brought back to the cancer experts at UCH.   Ginny received brain surgery here two weeks ago to remove a large brain tumor, and monitor a smaller brain tumor/spot.   Then the doctors realized that cancer had also spread down her spinal cord and throughout the nerve endings into what is called leptomeningeal metastases (LM).   Two to five percent of women with metastatic breast cancer experience this result,  also referred to as carcinomatous meningitis.  LM occurs when breast cancer spreads to the meninges, which are layers of tissue that cover the brain and the spinal cord.   So as you can imagine -- Ginny and her doctors decided to move very quickly into a full and immediate treatment plan.

But even with worldclass health care, the whole family has felt so much struggle the past few weeks.   Struggle to go through brain tumor removal surgery -- struggle to start radiation again.  Struggle to start chemo again... and struggle with Ginny's sudden difficulty to walk, eat, sleep and even breath and swallow efficiently.   The past couple of weeks has brought her family back to the hospital for more days and nights than they would care to count right now.   Long days, Long nights -- and those struggles on Ginny and her family continue.

Her doctors are some of the finest in the nation  -- and are agressively treating her cancer with everything they can throw at it right now.   And we her family and friends,  have two other ways we can help this beautiful family now too -- prayer -- and financial support.   And the time to help is now.   We need and covet your immediate prayers -- prayers for miraculous healing, daily strength/protection in the hospital and on the roads back and forth, and for supernatural comfort during this battle they are facing as a family.   And everyone also obviously appreciates your financial support at this time, too -- which frees up space for them to focus on what truly matters right now.

Steve is still burning the candle at both ends with his work at home and in the field -- and thankfully still has health insurance coverage for their family.   This comes with a huge out-of-pocket family deductible though -- and that comes due each and every calendar year.  With the nature of Ginny's new medical treatments this year alone -- they are faced with another estimated $15,000 in deductibles, expensive hospital co-pays, co-insurance, and travel/food expenses to and from Eaton and UCH.  These expenses could easily top $15,000 this go-around -- and have been unavoidable and unexpected.   So we have decided to do a new GoFundMe campaign for $15,000 to help encourage them during this hard time!

If you would like to help us relieve this one part of their family struggle right now -- would you join us in coming together to help pay these bills that are already coming due for this latest round of Ginny's treatment?   And would you commit to joining in our communal prayer for healing and comfort for Ginny and her family as well?   With so much on their plate right now, struggling to make it through every day as a family, the last thing we want them to have to worry about is the struggle of how to come up with the co-pays that are being added to her hospital co-insurance bill each and every day.  Her husband and children are so very grateful for everyone's support and prayers during this difficult, struggle-filled time.   Our hope is that our prayers and financial help will do just that -- help Ginny, Steve, Jacob, Nathan, Mikayla and Abby where they need it from us, most, right now.   Thanks so very much for helping us work together on this part!!!
