Support for Gavin and his family

On September 12, I was admitted to the hospital because my water had broke at 34 weeks. My entire pregnancy was amazing, and Gavin was due to be a healthy baby boy. On September 13th, at 4 pm I was taken back to deliver Gavin via c section but during delivery there were many complications. Gavin was breach and had the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck 4 times which made him very hard to get to and he went an unknown amount of time without oxygen to his brain. By the time the time they got him out, he needed to be resuscitated which also took awhile. When they got his heartbeat back, he was completely unresponsive and was transported to John Hopkins all children’s hospital in St Pete. Since then, Gavin has been fighting for his life. He has had multiple EEG’s which show minimal brain activity, and he is on 3 different medications for seizures. Even though Gavin has taken quite a bit of steps in the right direction, he is still not out of the woods yet. We’ve been here a week now, and they plan on us being here for awhile which is really taking a toll on both myself and Shane (Gavin’s father) especially since we’re away from our little girl who just turned 2, and worried about our son. Gavin’s father has been out of work since I was admitted to the hospital and starts back Monday. However, his job is an hour away from the hospital and he still has to take days off to take me to my appointments which is in my hometown, an hour and a half away. Between all of the traveling we have to do, and supporting ourselves here in St Pete, we could really use some help.
