On the afternoon of December 22nd, our son DeAngelo Hamilton (15 months old) was tragically burned in a cooking incident, while in the care of family members. This unfortunate incident has resulted in 30% burns on his legs, stomach, and a bit of his face and hands.

Baby Deangelo is strong and will be alright. He had just starting walking and running around. He and his father enjoyed chasing each other around the house. He has a motor like the Energizer Bunny because he just keeps going.

The  Doctors have told us nothing but good news after he underwent skin graft surgery on December 26th. We as the parents (DeAngelo and Lillie) have not been able to work during this difficult time in our lives. Baby DeAngelo has a long road of recovery and therapy ahead of him, and we are going to be right here along with him.

We ask that you give what you can, so that we can restore the same quality of life he once had. Thank you so much for your generosity. God bless.

Baby DeAngelo is finally home! After 5 long weeks in a hospital out of state, we are back at home with our sweet bubbly boy.

Since coming home DeAngelo has been doing great. He is back to standing, walking, and getting into shenanigans.

We thank you for all of the generous support, as we are still transitioning back to our lives. Baby DeAngelo will have continuous physical therapy on a weekly basis until he has fully healed. Due to this, he needs contsant care from us (his parents), preventing us both from returning to work.

Please keep us in your thoughts during these next few months of healing.

So a lot of good things have happened since the last update. He had his breathing tube removed and he has been weened off of all of his IV sedation and pain management drugs. The doctors are very impressed by his healing and progress that he's been making.

Right now we are currently preparing to be moved from the pediatric ICU to the trauma burn unit. Baby deangelo is doing very well and has a long road of rehabilitation ahead of him. This will include scar management and physical therapy. Our biggest concern for him at this point is making sure his mobility in his legs are restored to what it once was.

Thank you to everyone that has already donated. We appreciate your continued support during this difficult time. Please keep our sweet boy in your thoughts and prayers

DeAngelo's big dressing (bandage) change for his legs and abdomen was today. It was the first time they remove the bandages and splints since the surgery. Everything looked better underneath, and the doctors say that he is healing well. Today is the tenth day that he has been under sedation. He is on several different medications that keep his pain manageable, and to keep him from harming himself. We are concerned with the aftermath of having to gradually ween our son off of all of these strong meds. These are strong medications that if an average adult were to take it would be difficult to manage withdrawal symptoms.
We ask you guys to keep us in your thoughts and prayers at this time. Thank you
