Support Female Filmmakers—Help Me Direct


This story, The Bridge, was written during the height of my postpartum depression. I was crippled with fear of losing my infant son. I became obsessed with keeping him safe even when the threats were imaginary foes which my depressed mind conjured up. I had never really understood PPD, even though my mother struggled with postpartum depression with all of her three children. It only truly made me understand the hardships when I was stricken by the same troubled mind.  Even as my son is now 14 months old, I still struggle with irrational thoughts of losing him. This struggle continues, so I feel compelled to tell my story.


I think it's so important to show different perspectives of film and to encourage different points of view, especially since female directors are such a minority in the industry. We have rich and valuable stories that need to be heard.


I have been writing for years. I got my scholarship to university from my short stories. It has been a dream of mine to direct these stories.  I think I'm finally in a position to do so. I'm excited to embark on this new chapter of my life and I can't wait to bring you along with me via updates and links.


As an actress, I have been lucky enough to get a backstage pass to movie making. I hope that my many years in this industry have taught me what I need to know to create great stories, but I need YOUR help. Movie making requires money.
