Expedition Academy Santa Cruz is an independent middle school in Santa Cruz, committed to bringing 21st Century Learning experiences to all of our young learners. At the forefront of our educational model is our dedication to provide real-world interdisciplinary learning experiences. These Expeditions take students on a learning journey where they can apply their knowledge in a truly authentic experience. Our mastery-based approach to personalized learning leverages the power of innovative learning technologies designed to meet students “where they are” as they master their skills in English, Math and Foreign Language. We have an exciting and engaging environment that gives our young learners an alternative to the traditional education model that allows students to take charge of their own learning journey.

We need funds for all of the varied aspects of our program. In an effort to help you with your donation decision, we are providing a list of program experiences that will help you decide on your level of giving!
$2,500 -- sponsor a major Expedition Trip
$1,000 -- sponsor a day Expedition Trip
$500 -- sponsor general Expedition needs
$250 -- supports the annual software needs of a single subject for one student
$100 -- supplies and other general program needs
Expeditions:
Expedition Academy offers 6 Expeditions per academic year. Each Expedition utilizes a variety of local field trips, guest speakers and typically a destination trip of significance to the Expedition topic. Sponsoring an Expedition aids in providing resources for all aspects of the experience from overnight accommodations and transportation to expert guest speakers and specialized activities.
Educational Software:
We believe that every student should be free to choose the learning tools of their choice. Quality learning tools cost on average, $20/month for each individual student. At Expedition Academy we use tools specifically aimed at increasing student mastery in Essential Skills. Our Essential Skills focus on the areas of Math, Reading, Writing, English and Foreign Language with more than one tool per area available to each student.
